Birthday Gift

先日誕生日を迎えた私、

息子が予期せずサプライズで

手描きのバースデーカードと

お薦めだと言う木で出来たシャーペンを

プレゼントしてくれた。

ありがとう、大切にするよ。

息子と原宿へ・・・

 

Harajuku

先日の平日、春休み中の息子と原宿へ…

お年頃なのか最近ファッションに興味を

持ち出していて行ってみたいショップがあるとの事。

駅から竹下通りを抜けて裏原へ…

春休みなのか多くの若者や海外の

観光客で賑わっていました。

実は私２５年程前原宿で働いていた事が

あるので懐かしさも感じながら息子を色々案内しました。

当時働いていたキャットストリートは

随分と雰囲気も様変わりしていて時の流れを感じました…

息子はお目当ての服を買えてご満悦の様子…

将来彼が大人になった時また原宿に来た時、

「そう言えば昔父親に連れて来て貰ったな」

なんて思い出してくれたら嬉しいな…

等々と勝手に一人思ったそんな良い一日でした。

On a recent weekday, I went to Harajuku 

with my son who was on spring break...

He is getting interested in fashion recently 

and wanted to go to a store he wanted to visit.

From the station, we went through 

Takeshita-dori to Urahara...

It was crowded with many young people

and foreign tourists, probably because of the spring break.

I had actually worked in Harajuku about

25 years ago, so I took my son around 

with a sense of nostalgia.

The atmosphere of Cat Street, 

where I was working at the time, 

had changed a lot and I felt the passage of time...

My son seemed happy to buy the clothes he wanted...

When he grows up and comes back to Harajuku, 

I hope he will remember how his father used to

take him here... It was such a nice day for me.
